I'm I running lean with my mods?
I am in a debate of if I should get a tuner for my truck.
I Have a 3" Magnaflow Cat back system and a Banks Ram air intake. Is my truck running lean now. What would be the (best / Most safe) tuner for my truck. I just want to take out the accel. lag and firm up the shifting. |
what are the specs on your truck? if its 4.6 i wouldnt be to worried, would i invest in one yes but its not a must have or my truck is ruined. 5.4 on the otherhand, you are going to want to invest in a tuner asap. the 3v have more of an issue running lean with aftermarket CAI

Yes, I do have the 3v 5.4, I am looking at buying a Edge CTS and Getting a custom tune for it. What would be other good tuners for the 5.4

All depends on what YOU want....... |
Do you think it will be ok to run my truck with the Air intake for like a month without a tuner until I get a tuner and get the custom tune?
|
its going to take some time to get the custom tunes also, its not like you buy it and 7-10 days later you have a tuner with custom tunes on it. It has taken some months to get it.

I would pull the intake off, do a Gotts/DWV mod to the stock intake, and put it back on. Aftermarket intakes do absolutely nothing positive for you except look cool and make noise.
