I found one of these for an 04-08 F-150 cheap, so I bought it instead of buying a Gryphon new.

Here's why: $200 for the Edge+$25 for the Gryphon upgrade.

$225 for a Gryphon with canned tunes.

Does that sound correct?

Looks right - except you forgot the cost of the custom tunes (if you want/need them - depends on what mods you have).
