Edge Questions

Hi I own and edge evolution for my 1997 f150. Im trying to sell it and one person is very interested, but he owns a 1999 f250 with the 5.4. I was wondering if me device is compatible with his vehicle before I actually sell it to him. Its the 1997-2003 evo manufactured 3/26/2009. Any help would be very much appreciated thankyou.

Don't quote me on it but if both trucks are the 5.4L, it might work. Is this person a friend? If so you could try and hook it up in their truck before you sell it to them and see if it works.

Yes they are but i dont wanna screw up his computer so I really wanna be very sure.

I wouldn't think it would screw up his computer by plugging it in. If anything it would probably say non-compatible vehicle or something right off the bat before you would even be able to load a tune.
FYI, it is supposed to work on Expeditions, Navigators and Excursions also so I don't think an F250 is too far fetched.

Thank you very much I will give it a shot Monday if it does not work itl be back to the drawing board I suppose.

I'm curious to find out if it will work. This could be useful information for other people also. Just remember when you try it, use common sense and if it doesn't initialize or load just like it did in your truck, don't go any farther or else you may develop unwanted problems.

Thanks for the advice will do, if he ends up buying it and trying it out I will make sure to come back and share the news.

Totally agree with Darkshadow here. If the unit boots correctly (shows his truck's hex code when plugged in with his ignition key in the ON position), it should work fine on his truck. He should be able to program it to Level 1 or 2 and take it for a spin to see how it feels.
