predator questions?

i have a u7153 diablo predator and when i put the 93 tune on my 5.4 awd expedition and floor it from a dead stop itll go then it kind of sputters then it clears up in the high rpm,and if im rolling along and floor it, its fine, it only does it if i floor it from a dead stop. id say from about 2000 to 3200 rpm, and it does NOT do this when the vehicle is not tuned, idk what it could be and any help would be appreciated, i would like to leave the vehicle tuned but im kind of concerned it could hurt the motor

Does it happen when it programmed to stock?

Have you been performing the mileage maintenance tasks?

Like the fuel filter.
Cleaning the TB.

I was hoping DiabloMike would chime in......

Have you tried using the programmer to retrieve any dtc codes?

Spitting and sputtering could be anything from fuel delivery to spark control.........

Yeah, thats curious.

First thing Id like to know is what is the revision on the Predator?

Also, are you running premium fuel with the 93 tune?

If you are running a 93 tune on 87 octane, you should be getting some serious pinging, which is a no-no.

Yeah, it kinda sounds like it is getting some heavy KR.

Try loading the 87 octane tune as a quick fix

yea its pinging but its not pinging until it gets to about 4500 rpm when its floored and plus it pings on 87 without the programmer on it and its bone stock other than si/do flomaster. actually i wouldnt be scared to say it pings worse on 87 without the tune than it does with it.

by loading the 87 tune do you mean pull 4 degrees from the wot spark? because it only has one setting.

Ahh...yeah, try pulling a few degrees then.

If it runs that bad on 87 with the stock tune, IMO it needs a tune up for sure.

Plugs, and wires for starters, then if it still needs help, look into the coil packs, fuel filter, etc.

start with the fuel filter, it's the cheapest thing to replace. then look into plugs.

my fuel filter is brand new. i sure hope it doesnt need coils. its not like its skipping bad but it only does it when its tuned and from about 2k to 3k when its at wot its like it stumbles then clears up and goes fine. but imma pull some timing from the programmer and see if that helps and if not guess ill change the plugs
