towing vs. performance

So I filled up with 93 a second ago, question is do most of you fellas seem to think 87 octane and towing tune feels more powerful than 93 and performance tune?

yes, for me it do's. i ran 2 tank's with 93 octane on level 3 and it felt less powerful than level 2 with 87 octane. also for some reason my mpg's dropped to 13.5 with level 3, and on level 2 with 87 octane i average right around 17. needless to say i just switched back over to level 2 with 87 octane.

Cool I was beginning to think something was awry with my truck, maybe I need to get my exhaust and electric fans finally put on and change my evo over to a gryphon with all my mods when I get em put on. I have a cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, and the edge evo so far. I just feel my rear tires easier to break loose on lvl 2 than lvl 3. I was thinking to myself, where's this damn performance or maybe lvl 2 make more torque in low end and lvl 3 has more horses up top in higher rpms?

I think your CAI may have a lot to do with this too. You're possibly running lean at WOT with the CAI in Level 3 (even though your MY truck doesn't normally have the "lean problem"). I would leave it in Level 2 and try to stay away from WOT until you get custom tunes for the CAI.

If you could ditch the CAI and reinstall the stock intake, it would be even better. Then, you could do a fair comparison between the two tune levels.

I would bet that the tow mode has more torque down low where you actuall drive and the performance is maybe more HP up around 4k where you rarely get to.

My guess too...TQ you can feel and when its down low where you get on it a lot is why it might feel this way. Only true way to tell is to run it on a dyno or at the track I think.
