Setup help
Hey guys,
I'm new to the site and noticed there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here. So I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
I have an 08 F150 FX4 with a 5.4 ltr, 20" oem rims and tires, an S&B cai, flowmaster 40 series si/do, and a diablo sport programmer. I loaded the basic 87 tune but have not noticed a difference. That being said, I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I don't know much about the tuning of these trucks so I'm leery about messing with any of the settings before talking to someone.
So any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Forgive me for I don't know what the "basic 87" tune is in Diablo terminology?
Is it their economy tune?
Tranny only tune?
Why don't you try a 87 performance one?

You will notice that yer S&B CAI is not listed.
You may want to contact DiabloMike (or wait until he responds here) for a possible update to address that.
Also - you certainly should be experiencing much better tranny shifting characteristics and reduced throttle lag from the tranny alone, and a bit more power even on 87-octane.
Perhaps there needs to be additional updates applied for yer specific calibration. Again - Mike can advise.
I would NOT try the premium gas tuning until the CAI issue is sorted out.

The diablo only has 3 modes, 87, 89, and 93 octane tunes.
Well now that you mention it, i have noticed a little more responsiveness out of the truck, but nothing drastic. The only mod i have done is turn the top speed limiter off. Also i noticed that my speedometer is off about 7mph.

You're going to want to update it, as the tunes have been improved quite a bit, and there are many new tunes to choose from.

You'll need a USB to serial cable and a way to power up the Predator (12v 1 amp) or plug it into the truck with a laptop to do the update.

ok so I updated my programmer. Now what tunes or settings do you guys recommend?
I noticed that there are setting for k&n airraid and a few other CAI'S but not S&B. is there one is should pick that is similar, or should i just install the 87 performance mod and modify it?

Well i just figured i would ask and see what some of the senior guys on here had to see. I know there are several knowledgeable guys on here so i just wanted to see what they had to say.
