Sniper tuning software

Has anybody ever used the sniper tuning software to tune there F150? I'm debating to take it to a shop who uses that to tune my truck. But i really would like some feed back before i go ahead and try it. I don't want to waste my money

Did you try using the advanced search to see what hits you get?

No i have not tryed that yet. One place told me they use sniper software cause they can adjust everything. Another told me that they are just going to use a SCT tuner. I don't know which one to use.

One of the issues I see with the sniper software is that you're married to the guy and his shop that tuned your truck.
So if»
You need to put your truck back to stock programming cause its going to the dealer, you'll have to take it to him.
If you want to change tire size you have to take it to him.
Same goes for gears.
The only way around this is for you to get the software and cables besides taking it to him.
With a SCT programmer you can do all those by yourself.
Peace!

Members on here have had a lot of success with the Xcal3 tuned by VMP, Troyer or PHP.

To find a lot of info on the Sniper, click on Search, above, then click on Advanced Search. Enter Sniper Software and you get lots of threads. Maybe some of it will be helpful.

Is there a price difference between the two places? Is the sniper place going to give you a handheld tuner.

I know the way I went about with mine, I bought the software, which came with the handheld tuner, two "bullets" (one bullet for each car), and the software to tune yourself. I ended up getting 2 email tunes, though, so in the end, it would have been cheaper to just buy the handheld tuner, and just buy the 2 email tunes.

So the Sniper place might write up the tune, flash it on your car, and you go on your way. It should be cheaper that way since you don't buy the handheld tuner. Or, they could give you the tuner and well as the tune, so you can switch out to stock when needed. Or, they could give you the tuner and software, to where you could load the file they made for you, and change the parameters 88racing mentioned.

At least that's how I remember/understood it to be done. It's been a while since I was on the sniper boards, so things might have changed...

As Bluejay said, search. There have been previous thread on Sniper.
