Afraid to switch levels on my Edge Evolution touch screen.

During switching from level 2 to 3 with the edge evolution. For the first time and every time after while changing programs my Battery, Engine, and wrench turn on, and guage reads CHECK GUAGES. This happens during the erasing of the ECM and uploading different levels iether from 2 to 3, or 3 to 2. Never in the past 10 switch overs between levels did this occur. But since the first time I went to level 3, it started happening. Now I'm afraid to go to any other levels just in case it kills my PCM. I check my trouble codes and every time none are found. Whats weird is, before when I would turn the key on the battery and engine light turns on, then 15 seconds later my engine light flashes 8 times. In the manual it says engine not ready to be serviced. Now when I turn the key to on it just stays on, with out any flashing until I start the truck and engine light goes away. Should I be worried?

Im not sure about the engine light starting sequence, but I do know that my EVO has always turned the 3 indicators and the check gauges on while im reprogramming.

So what your saying is for your truck ever since you had your evo, when switching levels, Your guage indicators BATTERY, ENGINE and WRENCH light came on during the ECM erasing and New level programing Stage. And your truck sounded the CHECK GUAGE warning?

Get your battery load tested and/or replace it.
When things start to seem abnormal with the edge during programming its usually the battery.

Peace!

It is not uncommon for dash lights to come on during the flash process, or to hear warning chimes. Heck, in GM vehicles they cycle through the error messages on the DIC and after the flash, it says 'reduced engine power', that leads to a lot of confused looks....?

Sounds totally normal to me...I may even go flash our 04 F150 real quick to see what happens, its been a while...

Thats exactly what my CTS does. I wouldn't worry at all about it
