Thinking of buying an edge evolution

I am thinking about buying an edge evolution for my 99 F150 XLT 4.6 4x4. Has anyone else ran the edge on this same type of truck, and how well does it work?

since your search feature is broken, the gryphon (an edge that can be custom tuned) would be a better choice as custom tunes are always better than canned

Good day to you sir!

With ample regrets, no. You must now first have PHP convert your Edge to a Gryphon, then request custom tunes; each has a nomimal fee attached.

In the past, indeed this was possible, when Bill first set forth on this Epic journey!

And if I may be so bold (forgive me please, I am weak), with respect to the User-adjustable Custom Settings on the Edge, this is not to be confused with true Custom tuning, in case you were wondering.

Cheers & be safe, my friend!

Just go and get yourself a Gryphon from PHP if you want custom tunes.

Currently using an Edge Evolution on my recent purchase, a 2003 regular cab, short bed, with the 4.6, and there is only one word to describe it: AWESOME !!! I am only using the Level 2 - Towing setting at the present, with NO custom alterations at this time, but I am getting a solid 2 MPG improvement in gas mileage, and can really feel the improvement in low end acceleration and transmission feel. It is the best thing I have invested in for this truck yet (other than doing the Gott's air intake mod).

Coinroll - I'm going to try to answer your original question: "We don't know how well it will work!"

There, that about covers it!

Now, most of us that have tried programmers with canned tunes report a much improved "driving experience". But, it's all subjective. What I like you may not like. And, you may not think the "improvement" is worth the bucks. It's a bit of a crap shoot.

Please take the time the read the sticky near the top of this forum: "Questions About Tunes? Read This". It may help to put things in perspective.

But, there are NO guarantees! NONE!
