Programmer question.

I was wondering, would a programmer shorten the life of my truck? It currently has 181k mi. on it with the original transmission. I know turning up shift firmness would, but I'm not quite sure if it would hurt anything if turned up mildly. I'm more worried about the transmission than the motor though.

Thanks
- B

#1 a shift kit will lenghten the life of your transmission, firming up the shifts in a tune will put more stress on your pump and posible lead to premature pump failure...

#2 a tune may improve your mileage and will increase useable power...

#3 your maintenance and quality of filters used will determine the life of your motor...
