It is possible. Head over to the PHP forum and read up, lots of folks and their experiences with different intakes and getting the drone cured Plus you can talk directly with Bill and see what he thinks.

This is a first?
Never heard a Banks droning that bad?
Talk to Bill@PHP and see what he can do.
If the noise is killing you that bad put the stock intake back on.

So its a low rpm drone?
Just before the shift or right after the shift?

I have a Volant (not that excited about it) and Troyer did my tune to account for the intake. I just live with the drone. My dad who is 65 drove my truck the other day, and complained about it. I guess that I have just gotten used to it. If anyone can tell me how to fix it, I would appreciate it.

A tuner can try to eliminate the drone the only problem is that the more the drone is eliminated the more the efficiancy of the tune is lost.
For tuners getting rid of the drone is a crap shoot.
For the most part every truck will react differently to the same CAI in reguards to the drone.
Bill with PHP has found that it is harder to get rid of the drone in CAI's that are made from plastic composites and the tube design has a taper in it.
Metal ones can do it also but it just depends on your truck.

cool, ill keep that in mind....My buddy suggested that the intake may not be sitting right and might be rubbing somewhere it shouldnt. So I took a look at it and to me it seems like the filter housing should be bolted down but I didnt have any bolts left over when I received it???? anyone noticed this same problem???

It sounds like you have the same issue as me, in 4th when the TC locks and the rpm's drop it will get a nasty lugging/power loss sensation and the intake will drone (especially at 45-60 mph). Does this sound familiar?

If you went over to PHP's forum then you probably saw my on-going thread about this exact subject. I'm still awaiting what Bill can do to resolve it. JackandJanet and myself where just talking about what intakes might not cause drone, and he speculated possibly the banks, but I guess we can mark through that idea now What all modifications do you have? Its my understanding my 'drone' is not helped by some of my modifications (exhaust, heavy tires, tall gears, etc..) I noticed both the banks and S&B have plastic tubes, and what I'd call irregularly shaped tubes, Bill had said he has luck in getting rid of drone in certain constant diameter, metal/aluminum tubed intakes; again this might be a moot issue if your like me and your modifications don't help the drone/performance issue...

I have a bank's intake and exhaust, plus the drone but live with it. I try to keep a load on the engine when it does it but find myself start to speed when I do, if you find that they can reduce it any, let me know. If not, a supercharger may go on sometime in 2010.
