This has happened once before as I recall. And, I seem to remember it being tied up with changing the WOT fuel. Do you remember if you changed that at all? If so, try leaving it alone. Adjusting shift points and max RPM should be safe, but still, try doing these things one at a time till you find the change that causes the problems. Timing is something else I'd stay away from. If you're using 91 octane gas in a 91+ octane tune, the timing is already advanced properly.

I'll see if I can find the thread (it was in another forum) where something similar to this happened. I'm not sure I can find it though, so don't hold your breath.

ok i finally got it running right. it was the WOT fuel. i tried bumping it up everytime i programmed it thats why it was running bad. then i advanced my timing and it ran even better! i love it now! i just cant mess with the WOT fuel lol but its ok

Good, I'm glad my rapidly fading brain cells remembered the WOT problem right, because I have not been able to find the thread that brought this problem up before. I think you've already got a bit of advance on WOT fuel without having to add to it. I doubt seriously that you really need to add more to it.

Edit: I've never felt the need to change the WOT fuel settings in my tunes.

Yes, I do. I haven't done it yet, for really only one reason (which may be poor reasoning on my part). When I'm towing, I'm charging three batteries, counting the two in the trailer. And, I'm running a DC powered refrigerator in the trailer too. I've installed a DRL module in my truck, so the headlights are on too (at 70% power). I suspect I'm getting fairly close to the continuous load limit on my 130 Amp alternator with all this draw.

So, I'm reluctant to add the additional draw of e-fans, and, underdrive pulleys just make the alternator turn slower (along with the other accessories of course). Either effect just might "tip" me over the alternator output limit. I know I'm putting quite a bit of draw on it because my charging voltage drops by as much as 0.4 Volts when I'm towing.

So, until I feel frisky enough to install a 200 Amp alternator, I'm not going to try pulleys or e-fans. But, the fluid clutch fan DOES rob you of power and fuel economy, even when it's not "engaged", because it's never really totally "free", and, the other accessories are spinning at higher RPMs than they need to at driving speeds, so they are using power too. I suspect you'd recover the cost of both mods fairly quickly in improved gas mileage.

If I could do only one of these mods, I'd go for the e-fans.

It's not ignorance, we just get used to "acronyms" here. WOT is "Wide Open Throttle", which is essentially anything that is real close to having the "GO" pedal on the floor. (As I recall, WOT is around 93% or greater open throttle).
