I have a 2001 f-150 4x4 with the 4.6 and 3.55 gears. I am putting a 5" lift on it in about a week or two with 35" tires. I am looking for a tunner to give me some more power and adjust the spedometer. I have heard that the X3 is a better tunner but i dont know if i need custom tunes becuase i dont have any other mods left. I like the edge because it is cheaper and the display options. The next mod i plan to do is gears the in like a year or so maybe an cat back exuast and an cai. Wich tunner is better for me. Also i heard that my truck (4.6 with 3.55 gears and 35" tires) will "hunt for gears" alot, can either one of the tunners change that or is there something else i could do. I dont have much money after the lift is the the best mod to do after putting a lift and bigger tires on or should i look into something else?

 

Do the gears first, nothing compensates for underpower more than gears. And the tune wont help your truck if you do not have any peformance mods. I'd go at least 4.56's for your gears

you cannot compare and edge to an Xcal3 since it's canned VS custom (apples to oranges)
