transmission shift points

what can you do with your shift points with a programmer? can you make a significant change in how you tranny acts? i would like my truck not to up shift so quickly when accelerating without the throttle wide open. it always seems way to eager to be in a higher gear. i probably should just get lower gears i need them pretty badly with these 315/75r16 tires just was wondering what i could get from a programmer.

don't set them over 5000rpms and keep them above 3500 cause thats your powerband.

The OP is asking about normal shift points, I think. Yes, with the Edge and the Gryphon, I know you can adjust normal shift points as well as WOT shift points, You can also adjust he firmness of the shifts thru pressure adjustments.

x2 on bluejay!

I have the Edge and Can't tell enough about the drastic difference in my truck after I installed it! I absolutely recommend a tuner, probably the best money you could possibly put in your truck!

Let me add to this by saying with my Gryphon and custom tunes I can actually control the shifting better through the throttle than before. Meaning that if I want it to stay revving at 4k I can control that without the ecm completely taking over. If that makes sense.
