Question Will a programmer fix the electronic throttle delay?

One thing I notice about my truck is that if I stomp on it for whatever reason it takes about 1.5 seconds to react. I've been told this is because of the electronic throttle instead of the cable throttle I used to have on my Jeep. If I were to get a programmer would this solve the problem? I like my power as soon as I hit the gas, not later. I can't even quickly change lanes out of a stopped lane into a moving one with enough time to accellerate.

X3 - for overkill! The reduction in throttle delay was the first "performance" metric I noticed after installing my programmer.
