Superchip or Edge

I am having trouble deciding between a Superchip or an Edge programmer. I am looking for something around $400. I am mostly looking for something to improve my gas mileage (I am getting about 13-14mpg now). I would also like to have an option with a performance and tow package with the programmer. I have a 2004 F-150 with a 4.6 engine. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks.

Edge/gryphon gets my vote. I love the readout that my gryphon provides and the increased tranny performance.

Gryphon. Great custom tunes to achieve what you want.

I agree with Edge/Gryphon being able to monitor the different functions is a very nice feature to have.

Keep in mind that the Gryphon is the same hardware as the Edge and even comes with the same canned tunes, just has the capability of being custom tuned, which is the best way to go.

Don't waste your money with Super Chips. Either get the EDGE or Gryphon.

I have an Edge and love it. I do wish I had a Gryphon right now though. I was out at 4 Wheel Parts Truck and Jeep Fest this past weekend, and they had some good prices on CAI, but I would most likely run lean with out custom tunes.

Do the upgrade to the gyphon and feel the difference! After the upgrade you will probably won't even think of a cai!

Go with the gryphon! You will be happier with that tuner!

If you'd prefer a mountable tuner, then the Gryphon from PHP is definitely the best choice, keep in mind there are still programmers from SCT such as the Xcal 3 custom tuned through Troyer Performance, and VMP Tuning.

I have a 04 also with a dinky 4.6, made a HUGE difference when I got my tunes from Justin(VMP Tuning), and he got em back in a day which is a huge plus.

Yeah, I keep meaning to do upgrade it. It's only 25 bucks, plus shipping. I even went to their website after I typed that previous post. I think I might upgrade this week and just wait on the tunes. I look at the CAI and Gryphon every week.

I ordered my tuner through Justin @ VMP Tuning, I asked him for 89 Tow/89 Perf/89 Mileage, my truck was sooooooooo slow to respond on the throttle, now it feels like a whole new truck, I love what the tunes have done to it. Although I got a CAI also, and while I was switching out to my CAI I noticed my stock intake had a mouse nest inside of the fender blocking the intake completely haha.

Overall I love my truck all over again after going from stock to my tunes, I run 89 Miles alot, but when Im feeling good and just got a full tank of gas, I change it to Perf for fun =D

I dont know if you'd prefer higher octane though, the 89 has done it for me though.
