Which programmer is best

I have an 2007 supercrew with the 4.6l. I was wanting to add a programmer to it. Just wondering what is the best one for the 4.6l

What are the reasons you say edge is the best? I actually posted a question of which tuner people thought was best and why in the Engine area. Did not see this forum? Also where did everyone buy theirs and how much. Also, some people on this site need to chill a little. Not everyone has been on here for ages, don't be so quick with a sarcastic reply as in the other forum. That does not apply to the first two respondents. Thanks.

I love my Gryphon! but I have heard a lot of good things about the Xcal3 too. They just don't have a cool pod and guages like we gryphon/Edge guys do!

Simply because, well, because I have one.

Hope that helps.

Edit. I should also add that I've never tried or owned any other prorammer.

I am mostly looking for mileage specs. I tow a 20' bass boat and am looking to increase mpg just a wee bit. Some say the get 2-3 + others boast of 5-6+.

Don't buy a programmer or tuner for the claimed MPG. I have noticed a 1 mpg gain in using my gryphon, but I ordered it for increased shift firmness and increased throttle response. I highly doubt any single mod (excluding gears in an extreme situation) will cause greater than 2mpg.

I agree with Yetti on this. If you can get a 2mpg increase in a gasser, you're lucky. You might pick up some additional, modest gains in economy with e-fans and underdrive pulleys, but it won't be much.

These mods are really for power, throttle response, and maybe for small tweaks like adjusting your speedo for tire size, increasing your speed and rpm limiters and so on. They make driving your truck more fun.

I have the Gryphon. I use the additional gauges it offers. And, for customer service, Bill and Corey Cohron at PHP cannot be beat.

Adding to what has been said, it was very difficult for me to determine if I got any efficiency gains from the Edge, then the Gryphon tunes as the 10% ethanol has been a negative factor, plus I have gone to larger, then even larger tires. Those are all negatives for mpg. The best I could determine, I get about the same mpg from stock, canned and custom tunes, but the canned tunes were so much more responsive than stock and the custom are so much more responsive than the canned, that I have a lot more fun and get there quicker.

Yes. Not only does it stop bolders and bugs, but it has other purposes as well. It's multifunctional.

It's good for a few extra horsepower as well
