Custom or what

Troyer said they could do a custom tune via email sold with their xcal3 unit

how does that wrk? is that really a custom job and how much better would it be to actually drive there and get the dyno custom tune via the email one?

Mike has years of experience tuning F-150's and if you drive there you will get your tune faster and have a dyno sheet where as via email you won't

My email tunes from mike have always been spot on

Im glad i found this thread.

I know all these tuners on here are good at what they do, as they should be.

But really how much different is there gonna be, between a emailed custom and a dynoed custom?

I know its who does it and what not, but with the tuners we have avail to us on here.

Whats really gonna give me that edge?

Same truck same mods, one emailed and one dynoed what ones gonna win? or will it be a dead tie? just one guy has papers from the dyno?

im still trying to figure out if there are any mods that u sould do BEFORE u custom tune ur truck

like does a lift effect it or some other mod

would suck to get a custom tune just to do a mod and have to turn around and RE tune it

If I were close enough I would definitely drive over to Mike's place and get a dyno tune. Also I think I would order my CAI prior to adding a tuner, but that's really about it. I don't think the lift itself will have any effect on the tune, but the change in tire size and possible regearing will definitely effect the tune. You can make adjustments for those inside the programmer itself though.
