Tuner/Programmer Help

So far I've leveled my '04 FX4 Screw, slapped on some 285/75 Toyo Muds on stock wheels, and added a SI/DO Super 44 muffler with side exit in front of the rear wheel. The eagle (uncle sam) finally took a dump in my checking account and I'm going to add a CAI and throttle body spacer. My question is.......should I get a programmer with "canned" or "custom" tunes? I don't really know the difference. Anyone with similiar mods and a programmer? Oh yeah.......and what kind of HP gains will I get if I add some decals to my truck? Juuuuuuust kiddiiiiing

The same amount you will get out of the TB spacer!

The general ideal here is custom tunes are far superior to canned.

You get a CAI you will need the custom tunes to see any benefit.

NICE!! Thanks. I used to think the throttle body spacers were useless also until I spoke to a co-worker of mine that used to work at a major Ford dealership in Michigan. He said it probably wouldn't give you more than 8hp but that it does help airflow and in turn would help your engine run smoother. Anyways, so what exactly is the difference between canned and custom tunes? Don't wanna cause any DRAMA or BEEF with anyone but I'm open to "suggestions" or "preferences" or "recommendations" or WHATEVER you guys wanna call it! Thanks again for the input Keith

The canned tune is designed by the tuner manufacter and is set up for the masses much like ford does only better. The custum tunes are set for your needs. When you order custum tunes you will be asked questions like where do you live, driving habits,do you tow,how much do you tow, what expectations do you have are you buying for fuel economy things like that.

The spacer can help on a carburated engine. Does nothing on a fuel injection system.
