I like the gryphon.
I liked the extra guages, but after calling the "big three" I went with PHP due to there customer service. Bill is an awesome guy, and was willing to explain everything to me. Not saying the others were bad, all seemed to know what they were doing. Personal preference I suppose.

A LOT of people like the Edge Evolution as well. For canned tunes it seems that the Edge is tough to beat.
How much does PHP charge for the Gryphon upgrade when trading in an Edge? Anyone? Is it $50 for the upgrade and $30 per tune?

The Edge Evolution cannot be custom tuned. However, we offer an upgrade for those customers who need custom tuning. The cost to upgrade the Evolution to a Gryphon is $35 + shipping, which includes re-casing the programmer and updating the firmware. Each custom file is $50. Turnaround time on shipping the programmer back out to you is about 2-4 days; at this time, custom files take 4-6 weeks. Custom calibrations are downloaded and installed using our Pegasus Update Software.

The best thing to do is what MercedesTech did. Call. Call Power Hungry. Call VMP. Call Troyer. I have an X3 from Troyer. I love the device and the tunes. But that should have nothing to do with you. It doesn't matter what anyone else here has, or how much they like it or dislike it. You have to talk to the people who are selling these items, then decide which one is best for your needs.

i ordered my programmer from VMP tuning and it should be here on friday. i just ordered it this last weekend so its coming fast and i hear great things about vmp, you should check them out
