level 2? or level 3?
level 2? or level 3?
i just got my evolution put in my truck and iam consistantly getting better 0-60 times with it on stage 2! same set up in my custom options, (canned tunes) and with it on stage 3 its normally around 7.8sec but with it on stage 2 its around 7.3sec. is this normal? or am i doing something wrong?
Maybe not. Level 2 is designed for towing, so it develops more power at low speeds than Level 3. The shift strategy and fueling are different.
But, what kind of gas are you using? If you're running 87 octane and using a Level 3 tune, your spark is badly over advanced, and this could be hurting your power.

It's entirely possible. You have a lot more low end torque with Level 2, but it fades rapidly over 2000 rpms. Level 3 should give you better 1/4 mile times or something is strange.

If all you will be doing is in town, red light to red light, then level 2 is fine. If you need acceleration on freeways and highways, then level 3. I ran level 3 for 30,000 miles before I got smart and got the custom tunes. I got about 11% better mileage out of level 3 on 93 octane over level 2 on 87. So, it made up for the extra cost and gave better performance. One other thing, never tow on level 3. Level 2 is a towing tune.

And, if I read your earlier post correctly, you're burning 91 octane gas, but using the canned Level 2 tow tune, which is set up for 87 octane. If you want to continue here, you SHOULD be able to advance your spark in the "Custom Options" menu to take advantage of the reduced tendency to "ping". The Edge manual suggests 1/2 degree for each octane point difference, so you should be able to advance your spark 2 degrees.
I think I'd try 1 degree at first, test it and if things are good, keep advancing in 1/2 degree increments and testing till you reach the full 2 degrees.
