Scott,

With the advanced logging on the Cortex.. does it or will it ever have the ability to show avg & Inst mpg ?
And is it possible to set the display to Metric?

I would all depend on if the vehicles PCM offers that kind of data log that we could tap into.

The 7.3L F250-F350's for example were equipped with a mileage meter that was built into the roof console that ran off a separate computer gauging mileage of the vehicle. The issue we had was that once the vehicle was retuned by our programmer that the onboard computer that provided MPG was hit or miss at that point because in some instances it would not be able to understand the changes.

Being that the mileage meter was a separate computer from the PCM we were unable to control it's data and that would be the same for the new vehicles as well unless they were merged into the PCM which I doubt the OEM's would do that honestly.

Fair answer.. I know or believe the F150 offers the onboard economy.. but I don't have that option in my truck... but even more important I guess would be the option for me to set my display to metric... But for the record I am Luvin the Cortex..

Please don't take my answer as a negative to the option.

If the option is probable we would definately love to add it to the list. I assume there are many factors involved that make it difficult to add and be accurate and that is why it has not been available.

Superchips,

I have an 07 5.4 F150 Screw. I'm wanting to mostly to improve fuel mileage, but wouldn't mind adding increased performance to the truck. Which one of your products would you recommend.

Also are there any negatives to adding these enhancements?

We are one of the few companies offering a product that does not push your vehicle to the limits compromising safety. With our product installed you should not see any degradation of your vehicles drivetrain provided that you follow our towing recommendations.

I would say that the only negative you might encounter is the fact that you may have to purchase fuel more often cause you will be more inclined to push the right pedal to the floor more often after the power increase. LOL

I went to the Superchips site and looked up a tuner for my 2002 5.4 and the recommendation was the 1865.
Then, I went to a vendor site and they listed the 1815 for my truck.

What is the difference and which one should I use?

We have recently released a new smaller form factor version of the Flashpaq programmer. That new model number is the 1865 for Ford gas applications. The 1865 Flashpaq now supersedes the 1815 first Gen Flashpaq.

Sorry, I inquired with my engineer and he is still not ready to offer files to work with intakes at this time.

I will be sure to update this and other sites once I hear of us getting closer to their release.

Hey Scott, I have the superschips flashpaq 1815 and love it. Is there any difference between the 1815 and 1865 when it comes to the performance in any of the tunes.

Both Flashpaq products are identical in the performance and options you are used to using but the new Flashpaq offers a quick tune option that allows the user of the new product the ability to just tune a power level by itself and skip the other features.
