Running 91 octane in the 87 program will not give you a problem.

Only question is if I turn it down to towing or 87 octane will it hurt anything running the 91 or higher octane fuel in it. Thanks.

Sorry, your Ford tuner will not be able to recognize GM or Dodge codes. You can however read other Ford vehicles.

QUOTE=sleddogg;3652452]Scott,

Can I use my 1715 tuner for my 99 f150 as a code reader on say a Chevy and will most codes be the same or do I have to look up the GM codes somewhere else?

Thanks...

Off the line

Hey Scott, 2005 f150 lariat Sc w/ 5.4 3v motor. I really like the superchip, I am seeing a decent change in the operation of the truck, my only question is when I am on performance the truck runs awesome (91+ octane fuel is used), when I put it on any of the other settings (TOW, 87 Octane Or mileage XS) I see a difference when I get moving but off of the line it is sure a dog. On the stock setting it even trys to jump off the line but with these other settings I feel like I am driving a 6.0L diesel and waiting for the turbo to spool up before I take off. I have no other mods and have tried 87+ octane and 91+ octane fuel in it, any ideas why I lose my bottom end power on these other settings. Thanks.

What you can do is put a call into my customer service department at 888-227-2447 and explain the issues with one of the reps. We can have one of the engineers look into your files to see if some tweaks are necessary.

Keep me posted on your progress. I will help wherever I can.

To answer your question about multi vin options, we currently do not support multi vin at this time but have looked into the possibility for the future.

To our defense I am not aware of any manufacturer offering multi vin as an option and honestly how many vehicles can you drive at one time anyways...LOL (Joke)

Yes we are a business making a product to make money but that does not mean that we are not listening to what you the customer have requests for.

I wish I could guarantee you that milti vin will be a future option but there is no guarantee at this point.

Feel free to check back with me periodically about this. I will definately post news on this as it becomes available to me.

Well I decided to buy 2 Cortex tuners for the Navigator and my Harley. The one for the Harley worked out of the box, but I havent really noticed a improvement yet. The navaigator didnt work at all, and after calling in and talking with your support guys I have decided to just return it to the store where i bought it. They will not refund my money though as they told me it has to be checked out by your company 1st?
I know when I reprogrammed my mustang with the flashpaq, i could tell right away that there was a huge improvement. I was hoping for similiar results with my other vehicles.

What program are you currently running in the Harley? Are there any other mods done tho the vehicle?

Sorry for the issue with the Nav. It may have just needed an update. There is that occation where we have not seen a file in a vehicle either because it is a new dealer flash or just one we were unable to locate when the product was released.

The engineer should have been able to build the update for you in about 5-7 business days. Then all you would have to do is download it online free of charge.

The dealer taking back the product just want's to make sure that you are not sending back a vin locked tuner. It has happened before. Bear with them on your refund.

The Harley is running the performance tune. As for mods that should increase performance, Ram Air hood, Air Raid Intake, Electric Fans, Lowered Front and rear end.
I did update all 3 of my tuners before and after I loaded them into my vehicles.

I can always download the Nav tune in the future when and if it is working.
As for the returned tuner, all they should have to do is plug it in and they can tell if it is vin locked or not!

Correct the dealer just needs to verify that it is not vinlocked. How long has he had your product?

Hello,

It was asked a little while back but I didn't see any answer or estimates...

Do you know if/when tuner choices will include the 2009 5.4 w/ 6speed transmission?

Thanks!

I don't have an exact ETA for release at this time but can tell you that we have been working on 09 tuning for some time now.

As soon as I have more specific data I will be sure to post it here.

Thanks for the inquiry!

When the tuner is powered up either in the vehicle or at your PC select "Info and Settings" in the main menu. Once in that section select "Tuner Info" to display your current tuner database. Once you update your tuner online to a new file it will diaplay that new database number in that section.

This info is also covered in your Cortex users manual on page 12.
