Currently we do not have calibrations to work with most of the popular CAI kit's on the market but management has asked our Ford engineering to get busy working on it so they should be available in the near future.

you missed some questions on page 2

Scott, I am also interested in the two questions already asked but no response. Please refer back to the questions from JSWD60 & AB46501.

Thanks,

Scott, I have been to 5 sites, some are offering the Superchips Mileage XS Programmer for 287.00 and the Paq for 309.00(lowest). What are the greatest differences and why buy the Paq.?

The Flashpaq will provide you with our total package which included tunes for performance, mileage, and towing. The Mileage XS is strictly for mileage and only includes one tune along with any other options to better assist you in mileage gains.

That being said, if you own a Mileage XS and wish to get the power options added we can upgrade your Mileage XS to a Flashpaq for a nominal fee.

Our towing performance tunes are set in two stages.

91 Tow and 87 octane

The 91 tow offers more power than the 87 octane setting but is more limited in max capacity than the 87 octane due to the increases we make in the engine wit timing and fuel curves as well as the transmission in most cases.

The 87 octane allows you to tow the maximum chassis capacity while receiving improvements over stock.

The 91 tow file added 16HP and 21 ft/lb TQ at the rear wheels

The 87 tune added 10HP and 17 ft/lb TQ to the wheels

Both programs also greatly improve the vehicles throttle response and driveability throughout the rpm band.

I would also want to stay with 87 octane. What kind of advantages and tunes does your flashpaq and cortex offer? What gains would be expected? Thanks!

Right now I do not have any info to offer on that kind of option at this time but I can say that all options are being considered.

I will definately be the first to let you know if that ever changes.

Hello Scott
I have a few questions.

I have 3 2007 Ford vehicles and would like to have each one tuned. As I understand it now you don’t offer a multi vehicle option, you just want the customer to have 3 separate programmers lying around. I understand you need money for each vehicle, but I don’t need 3 programmers lying around either. What do you do for customers that want more than 1 tuner for their vehicles as I am pretty sure almost everyone here has more than 1 vehicle in the family?

I bought a Flashpaq for my Mustang last summer before the cortex was available, and it used to have a lot more options you could adjust as far as what mods you have done to the vehicle. Now after doing the web update, it just has generic tunes. I liked the way you could go online and adjust the different, yet common mods and customize your tune that way.

As for the Flashpaq I would have preferred the Cortex as it is much smaller and easier to deal with. But if I was to buy a new tuner for my other vehicles it would be the Cortex which would leave me with different tuners for my vehicles and I would prefer them being the same.

Thanks in advance for any helpful information!

For now the Cortex is your best bet as far as tuning options for multiple vehicles of the same manufacturer as the cortex comprises gas and Diesel, car and truck applications into one small package.

To answer your question about multi vin options, we currently do not support multi vin at this time but have looked into the possibility for the future.

To our defense I am not aware of any manufacturer offering multi vin as an option and honestly how many vehicles can you drive at one time anyways...LOL (Joke)

Yes we are a business making a product to make money but that does not mean that we are not listening to what you the customer have requests for.

I wish I could guarantee you that milti vin will be a future option but there is no guarantee at this point.

Feel free to check back with me periodically about this. I will definately post news on this as it becomes available to me.

Scott,

Can I use my 1715 tuner for my 99 f150 as a code reader on say a Chevy and will most codes be the same or do I have to look up the GM codes somewhere else?

Thanks...
Sled...

Octane

Hey Scott, Welcome to the forum. Nice to see some support for superchips. I have a 2005 F150 Lariat SC. I have my superchip installed on the performance mode and really notice a difference. Its alot more fun to drive around in and if I stay off the pedal I do see about 2mpg increase. Only question is if I turn it down to towing or 87 octane will it hurt anything running the 91 or higher octane fuel in it. Thanks.

As far as I know the 87 is for the people that dont want to buy premium fuel.
If you are going to use 91+ the put it on 91.
This is what I have read.

That is understood jswd60 and I do run it on performance w/ 91 + octane fuel, but if I change the program back to towing or 87 octane for example when I want to tow a trailer should I put lower grade octane in. I did read that it should go the other way if you are running performance for example that you should use the higher octane fuel because it wont detonate the 87 octane fuel well enough. Thanks

On 91 perf. w/ 87 you will see less power because superchips has it where if you get bad gas or accidentally run lower it wont harm the engine.

If you have your superchips manual on the front cover left side almost all the way down it says that 87 tuning provides optimum tuning when running 87 octane fuel. Use of premium fuel is not recommended with this tune.

I originallly thought that I would run 87 for the less power when driving around town and not needing the extra, until I read this. Now I just run in tow mode or Mileage xs.
Tow mode requires 91+ so switching from this and 91 perf. wouldnt require any change in gas.
I never run 87 perf. and I just always put 91+ in.
Only $4 per tank and I get 1 mpg better with 91 over 87 so it pays for it.
