The cortex differs by having what we call OEM Flex tuning which allows you to tune a gas or diesel application within one tuner per OEM so if you own a F150 gas and an F250 Powerstroke the single Cortex will work on either application.

You also get a 2 year powertrain warranty for vehicles under 100K miles with the Cortex

Either way we have your vehicle covered with both the Flashpaq and Cortex programmers.

Be sure to sign up and become a supporting vendor. It will be nice to have yet another tuner spokesperson here.

Scott,

I have a 2008 F150 Crewcab, 4x4, 4.6 with 3.73 gears. I tow a 19 ft 5500 pound travel trailer (fully loaded). My current rig will not pull this in OD on flat ground. Ford lists my trailer capacity at 6600 pounds. I used to have a 2006 Crew Cab F250 2wd with the 5.4 and the torqueshift automatic I miss that towing performance. I just want to be able to tow on flat ground in OD.

How much additional HP and torque would you flashpak give me? Is your tow tun 87 octane?

Thanks

Scott (my name is a Scott too)

Hey Scott,

Power increases to your 08 4.6L would be 11HP and 13FT/LB at thr rear wheels with our product.

Thanks for the inquiry,

Scott

Cortex 1950

Scott

You might be the only one competent enough to help

I drive 30,000 miles a year(highway) and am only trying to get better MPG. I just bought the 1950 cortex programmer for My 2001 F-150 supercrew 4X4 5.4L gas, K&N intake and Magnaflow exhaust. I have Nitto Terra Grappler 265 70R17 tires. With the the mileage AV setting it looked like it gave me better mileage until I noticed that the odometer was now off by +10%. With the 87 octane setting it give me less MPG (about 1-2). I expected an INCREASE, a modest 10% for the $500. I have tried both settings, each with 3 tanks of both high octane and regular fuel. My style of driving has definitely not changed. I really want this to work but am considering getting my money back and trying something else. As a pro, what do you think the problem is? Is is me or will the programmer just not give me the +10% MPG I expected

Scott, here is what I wrote in the other thread:
I'm also looking to find ONLY info about gas mileage. I, like the person who posted, drive about 30k/yr. I have a new 2008 xlt 5.4, 3.73 LS, tonneau cover, 275/65 R-18 Michelin LTX AS and nothing else as of yet. looking for a tuner SPECIFICALLY for better mileage. I use regular fuel also and tow a 19.5 boat quite often. Hope these specs help. I was looking at an Evo, but do not really want that sitting on my dash when I am out on the water for 10 hours. Thanks.

The only issue with all of the manufacturers out there offering mileage gains is repeatability. That is why everyone offers up to figures and not specifics.

I can give you feedback we have received from beta testers as a base ut your mileage gains might be better or worse depending on you average driving style, elevation, and weather.

Basically, if you drive more on the highway where you can get to a speed and stay there our tuning should give you mileage increases.

If you do mostly stop and go driving through traffic like in town, It is very hard for us to give you any guarantee on mileage gains due to the nature of that type of drivng.

I hope this answers your question and helps explain it a little more in depth.

The best thing I can tell you is to give it a try. If you do not like it within 30 days return it for your money back with no questions.

I have a 2005 F150 XLT 4x4 Screw with a 5.4 and 3.73's. No motor mods. I do alot of towing, travel trailer, atv trailer, tractor etc. I am mostly intereseted in mileage and towing performance. I would also want to stay with 87 octane. What kind of advantages and tunes does your flashpaq and cortex offer? What gains would be expected? Thanks!

Welcome. Although I think you stumbled onto more then you expected.
These guys here will praise you, drag your name through the dirt, ask you question outta left field. But with you around, and the name out there more, you will def. see a sale increase.
Hope these guys ease you into the Chip/tuner forum, b/c it is a bloody, ruthless, informative section.
