Edge Evo Problem!!

I'm new to the forum and was hoping someone could help me out. Yesterday I hooked my evo up to the computer to download new updates, second time I've done this. After it was done downloading an error popped up on the screen when I hooked it back to my truck.
The error says "error 403 42Lcmg", this comes up when I put the key to the power position without turning the engine on. This is before it reads my trucks code. I did return my truck to stock before I downloaded the new updates. Any help is much appreciated, and Thanks.

I can't help on the error, but it is my recollection that you are to have the key in the on position before pluging in the unit.

Thanks Bluejay, should have mentioned I've tried it both ways. The error still pops up. I've e-mailed edge but it's the weekend and haven't heard from them.

ASEMechanic used to work for Edge and now sells the Gryphon. Hopefully he will see this and comment.

Please post the fix if you get one as I'm having the same problem. Worked great until I decided to test my luck and update it this afternoon. I'll let you what I come up with.

Will do SunnDogg. I'm not glad you have a problem, but glad I'm not the only one. Edge must have messed up this newest update. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Hey bluejay, I was reading your sig and it says you have an evo with custom tunes. I didn't think you could have custom tunes with an evo. If you found away for custom tuning I'm very intrested. With my other mods I think custom tuning is what I need.

I had the Edge for a long time, running the canned tunes. Then www.powerhungryperformance.com went into business. Bill, ASEMechanic worked for Edge as a programmer before starting his own business. He offered custom tunes for the Edge and a few of us got them. Edge, in order to keep thier CARB ceritifcation, asked him to stop. They worked out an agreement where now, you can send your Edge, with a small fee, and have it converted to Bill's Gryphon and then he can do custom tunes. It is worth every penny.

Thanks bluejay, once I get this problem taken care of I'm going to send my evo to Bill to be converted to the Gryphon with some custom tunes. I'm so excited I don't have to buy the xcal3 or livewire to get custom tuning.

I kept the canned Level 2 for a towing tune and got an 87 Performance tune and a 93 Performance tune. They are great.

I'm probably going to go the same route as you, but the canned level 2 on my truck is not very noticeable.(actually get very poor mpg in level 2) I usually keep my truck in level 3, only way I notice any power gains with my other mods.

Discuss it with Bill in a phone call when you get ready. He will give you some good advice. Great customer service.
