How to.....
Find your computer code using an Xcal2? Reason I'm asking, my Dad's birthday is coming up and we just picked up an '08 Fusion, and he wanted a tune in it. Steeda has them, and one of the rep's is telling me I can find it using the Xcal2 but "I have to scroll to find it." I figure'd it would either be in the door jamb like they usually are, or in the engine bay like the '150's. His '150 already has a tune, and even though the Fusion is much peppier, he would like the shift points more efficient so a tune is the solution, but I was just baffled he told me that, because I did not know you could do that. Any clues?
Very odd.......found the "read strategy code" in the Xcal, and it's like a 6 or 8 character line of numbers/letters. It is not the code for the PCM, I found it elsewhere, so I'm not sure what he was talking about then? If someone could shed some light that would be cool.
I've been confused about the same thing for a while. My pcm code is FOU1, and my strategy is CNAB?? I found the strategy by using the read feature with the Xcal2, and the pcm code from the pcm itself.
I have SCT tuning software, which is matched to the FOU1, and no one has asked about the strategy yet.

I have no definate answer but only to confuse a little more maybe.
The computer code for my truck is on the PCM, DCC0 or something like that, cant remember now. Anyway, I always thought the 'computer code' was a 4 character code, three letters and one number.
The 'strategy code' I had to use the Xcal2 to get, a 7 or so character code, completley different from the computer code.
I would call them again for more clarification, but if someone asked for my computer code I would give them the DCC0, off my PCM, since THAT is the computer code, different from the strategy code. Using the Xcal will get you your strategy code. They do make it confusing when they ask for your 'computer code' by telling you to get the strategy code off the Xcal.
Im pretty sure its been discussed here before, might try searching.
If all else fails, send them both the strategy code and the computer code, making sure they know what is what.
