Chip in Bronco

My Dad called me up to order him a chip today since he doesn't have an Ebay account. He told me a friend of his swears by this thing. I've never really looked into chips, and I don't know too much on them. What I'm saying is I don't want him blowing up the engine on his Bronco. He's got a 94' with the 5.8L in it.

Here's a link to the chip. Does it seem like something to get?

Under $10 for a chip that will will pay for itself 10 times over in a single tank of gas??
I think not!!
If this chip were in fact real, why would it be $10? not hundreds?
Smells like SLR.
Tell your Dad to save his money.

Its just a $0.35 resistor that goes on the IAT sensor. It tricks the computer into running the engine really rich. All it will do is cause problems.

Just get it for him, then after it runs like s*** for awhile then just say "I told you so" if he's so dead set on getting this.
