Rough shifting with edge?

I recenly installed an edge on my 2008 F150 with a 5.4L. The upshifting is extremely rough. The entire truck jerks on any upshift with more then half throttle. It really feels like something is going to break if i leave it like this.

I've messed with the shifting firmness and reduced that as far as it can go, with no difference.

Am I missing something here? Or is this just what i can expect with the edge?

Yaaa ... I'd sell it for a custom tuned Xcal2 or Xcal3 or even trade it in on a Gryphon.

Now I dont have an edge but I have been doing a lot of research on tuners. I read here somewhere that if you dont have your correct gear ratio inputed in the edge it can cause rough shifting. just a thought..........

That is NOT normal. The canned shifts are not harsh at all. NVERL8 brought up a good point. I'm pretty sure the Evo still defaults to 3.73:1, so if that's not your setup then change it and leave everything else alone. If it's still happening then return to stock and call Edge. Or, just return it to Edge for a refund and buy a Gryphon from PHP, like Thumper said. Actually... if you're still inside of 30 days then just return it to stock and get your money back. Then buy a Gryphon!

Always check your gears and tire size every time you enter a program.

I have the 3.73 LS differencial and it lists 3.73 when i look at gear ratio in custom. Is there something i am missing there.

Changing the tire size is one of the main reasons i purchased the edge in the first place. So those numbers are spot on.

Am i the only one with these issues? Feels like i am just missing a setting somewhere.

Sounds as if you are doing it correctly. I would contact Edge then and see what they have to say. Mine was quick and firm but never so hard that it bothered me.

I recently purchased an Edge from the classifieds on here. I installed it about a week ago on my 07 F150 5.4 The performance differences are very good but the transmission shifts are very very harsh. I also tried playing around with the shift firmness but it doesn't seem to make any difference. So I called edge yesterday and they had me go through a bunch of thing. Then had me reinstall all the updates. No change So the nice gentleman from edge downloaded al the information from my edge evo and forwarded it to the engineers. So hopefully I will hear something about it. I also had a problem where it would not display and engine oil temp. Only would read 0. If I hear from them and there is anything they can do I will post it here.

My shifts were not firm enough on the canned program. I ran a +12 on shift firmness.
