Are the Gryphon and Edge the same thing? I mean they look the same and I am sure the act the same way. I know that the Gryphon is used for custom stuff like intakes, power pulleys and exhaust systems, so wouldn't Bill just be able to do up a custom tune file and send it to you through e-mail and you could just update the Edge for the Gryphon settings? Of course there would have to be some sort of charge for this service.

 

Yes and no. Electronically they are the same. Firmware is slightly different, being that our version has our contact information instead of Edge's. Externally, the cases are a different color.

With that said, I *technically* could send you custom programs for your unit, but my agreement with Edge prohibits me from doing such updates as it could possibly jeopordize their CARB certification. In order for me to provide custom tuning, I MUST have the unit sent in to me for an update which consists of the previously mentioned firmware and case change. It's inconvenient, both for the customer as well as for us, but unfortunately that's the way we have to handle it. And yes... there is a nominal charge for the update.

Interesting. On either hand I am looking at getting a CAI and possibly an exhaust. So if I were to send my unit in you would just wipe my unit clean and install your firmware and such or would you actually give me a new Gryphon unit? Also what is the pricing for this?

 

We recase your original unit and reflash the firmware. PM or call for pricing as it's generally not permitted for vendors to discuss pricing in forums.
