EDGE question

hey im thinking about getting a custom edge tune from troyer. I have this thing where i need the inside of my truck to be dark at night so i dim my gauges and turn the display off on my touch screen. Is there a dim funtion or a display off function on the attitude monitor?

There is on the Edge Evo, don't know about the Attitude.

I was not aware that Troyer did custom tunes for the Edge. Just curious, what decided you to go with Troyer?

Well real quick... the evolution has the monitor as well? My dad has the edge evo with attitude monitor for his powerstroke. Maybe I am just confusing the names of the monitors. Nevertheless, if I can dim or turn off the display, I am good.

Second, Bluejay, when I originally decided to look into custom tunes, troyer was the biggest and the only one that was really talked about. I have a friend who has custom tunes from troyer so that was really the only reason. I have talked to the folks at troyer quite a few times and they have always been helpful and prompt. However, I have just recently learned of "the big 3" which I am investigating at the current time. So as of now, I am not sure who to go with.

The Evolution is for the F-150, but also covers the 7.3L diesel, 6.0L diesel, and 6.4L diesel. The Juice w/ Attitude is only for the diesels.

Hope this clears some things up!

If you are custom tuning an Edge, I would highly recommend checking out www.powerhungryperformance.com. Bill was a programmer/developer for Edge and does custom tuning. He is somewhat the Edge guru and I am a happy customer with his tunes.

Troyer is more the expert with the Xcal2 and 3.

Yeah thats what im learning most recently. I dropped bill an e-mail this morning and will probably give him a call later on. I appreciate the info. I am mainly after mpg not necessarily power and torque. So for this im not sure exactly how much of an improvement i am going to see and if i shoudl mess around with an econo tune or stick to performance and just baby it.

I kept the Edge canned level 2 for towing and got an 87 Performance and a 93 Performance tune. I had been running the canned level 3 with 93 octane for about 18 months. Bill's 87 Performance tune is better than the canned level 3 I was running. If fuel economy is a big factor, you might want to consider an 87 Performance and an 87 Economy. Bill can tell you what to expect and what the differences might be. I have an 05 Supercrew, 5.4, 3.55 gears, 4X2, and I get pretty much the same mileage with stock tune, canned tune and custom tune. Just get much more performance from the same fuel from the custom tune. Running around the Metroplex, I get about 16.5, plus or minus. I get a little over 19 on the highway running 75 to 80 mph. Hope this helps a little.

Its good information. I was thinking about doing an 87 performance, 87 towing, and 87 economy. I want absolutely nothing to do with 93 because I have a private art school tuition to pay for lol. But maybe with those 3 I will see the gains and improvements where I need them most. I just need to talk to bill. thanks tho for the input
