hypertech max e programmer

i have a 97 f150, and my brother just bought an 01 f150. he was on ebay and came across a hypertech max energy programmer. 389$ he asked me if i would split the cost, and we could both use it. sure sounded like a great deal to me. he gets it in the mail... and slaps it on his truck. works great. now mine... this is when i say damn it!!!!!! i had no idea that these chips are meant for one vehicle. Is there any way, to make this work on my truck, or do i need to ask my little brother for a refund??? thanks for any help.

no, my brother didnt know that is was meant for one vehicle either... i guess thats what you get for not investigating something before you buy it

I think your brother owes you half the cost of HIS programmer! Sorry! Of course you could always "give" it to him as an early Christmas present.

I seem to recall that there is at least one brand of programmer that can be used on more than one vehicle at a time, but in general, they get "married" when used.

Look around. You'll probably find a good deal on another, now that you know they work.
