Unhappy Edge Programmer In And No Start Up Help Help

O.k.- So I Have Been Running My 06 F150 With The Edge Evo 2 Programmer For About 18 Months Now With No Issues. Great Product.. The Past Few Days When I Start Up The Truck The Display On The Programmer Is Showing The Edge Logo And No Typical Diagnostics. So I Would Shut Off The Engine And Unplug And Replug In The Programmer And The Problem Is Fixed. Yesterday It Did Not Fix It So I Thought I Would Bring The Programmer Inside And Reconnect It To The Computer And Search For Any Updates That May Be Out There. I Could Seem To Get That To Work So I Reattached The Programmer To The Truck And Now It Will Not Even Light Up The Dash, Start Or Anything. The Remote Door Locks Wont Even Work. I Was Not Able To Restore The Factory Setting Before Removing The Programmer. The Programmer Never Lit Up While Connected To The Computer Either? Any Ideas For Getting This Fixed? Can I Have The Pcm Flashed At A Dealership Or Something?

Are you sure that you don't have a battery or cable problem, even with a tune problem the truck should crank over and all accessories should work, although it may not start, sounds as though you may need to look at the truck it's self.

I agree with the above post. A tune problem shouldn't kill your gauges. Does the interior light come on when you open the car door? Do your headlights work?

From other posts on this forum, the Edge seems to "act up" when the battery is not charged well.

Remember, once the tune is IN the PCM, the Edge just sits and monitors things. It really has no "control" over anything.

Looks like you almost made a big mistake, it's good it didn't let you update it.

I bet it's like everyone already said and you probably have a problem with your battery. I would not do anything to the Edge until you get your truck and battery checked. Then plug the Edge in and it should be as it was before this happened...hopefully it's that simple

X2 on the "almost mistake" part, whitecrystal! But, the update software supposedly will not let you do an update though unless the Edge has been returned to Level 0. (I never trust these "idiot" safe features though. As a programmer, I know if there's a way to do it, some idiot will find a way to slip past ALL your safety features.)

Remember too, when you finally get your truck back working, that you MUST have the ignition ON before you plug the Edge in to the diagnostic port. Lot's of people in this forum have forgotten that one little fact, and then were surprised that their Edge didn't work.

Maybe bad starter relay? (I'm assuming the starter is not turning over.)

Or - maybe the truck "thinks" you are not in "park". Have you tried starting it with the transmission in neutral? Remember that as a "safety" feature, automatic transmissions only let you start in park or neutral. I've read somewhere that the safety switch can get out of adjustment and cause a no-start symptom.

Beyond these two thoughts, I'm out of ideas.

i know there is also a safty reset switch either under the steering colum if you have a colum shifter, or under the console if you have the shifter by the center console. i think all you have to do is push it to reset it, its in the owners manual though.

BATTERY!
My edge had some funny reactions to low voltage! light on no screen, stayed on even though everything was off, and key was out of the ignition???... strange... 2 days later my battery took a crap on me!
went down bought a new battery and all has been good since(1 year later)
I know my local auto parts store has a battery tester... but be careful and make sure they show you your read out to verify that your battery is dead or under charged before purchasing a new one!
