Getting info ready for Troyer's data sheet......
This question is for Troyer or anyone that knows.
Is the CMC plate delete in the intake manifold worth while? Will it mess with drivability? I hear it's worth 6-7 RWHP w/ tuning. I know Mustang guys do this ASAP, but with the differences between the 4six and the 5four..... this might not be worth while for us? Also, I have an '04 FX4 and am swapping in an '06 5.4 3V. Are the injectors the same or are there any changes that would need to be made to deal with the tune? I just got my LT headers (OBX knock offs of the Dynatecs). Do you shut off the rear o2's or should I use MIL eliminators? I'll be running a high-flow cat, but the o2 bungs are all within the header...... so other than the front bank o2's...... the rear's are worthless. Finally, how much difference in power/efficiency is there between the 91 and 87 octane tunes? I would assume that more timing can be used with the higher octane..... but I see a lot of people on here going with the 87 tunes. For $3.50 or so a tank difference between the 91 and 87, I'd go with the 91. Just waiting to finalize my data sheet so I can get in line for my tunes. Thanks in advance! |
You can buy O2 bungs for cheap and have the holes in the headers welded up, and put the bungs after the cats, no need for MIL elims if you're going to run cats. If you're not worried about the extra $.$$ for the 91, go that route.

:o Yeah.... I guess the octane question is a no brainer. I'm mainly curious about the main differences, I guess.
I have a few bung plugs (haha) left over from my Innovate LM1 WB o2 setup from an older project. Extending the rear o2's might be the way to go for now... until the tune shows. Thanks for your input. |
I got 93-octane in FL and it’s a noticeable bump-up over the 87-octane. Better MPG by a little, and the ultimate get up and go when ya want it. You’ll be happy with TP tunes dude, believe it :D
