? about Edge

I am looking at getting an Edge and am wondering if I have to get custom tunes if I have a CAI installed. Or is there a setting on it I can change to account for it. The only mods I have and will do are CAI and Exhaust. Also I will just be runnin' 87 Octane and am primarily looking for Fuel economy and towing. I guess I would do a little bit of performance just to roast my Chevvy fan buddy but I won't be fillin up with 93 just to do that.

Get’s ya a Troyer 87-octane tow preferred tune and you’ll be all set ; TP’s tunes are the way to go IMO

The canned Edge tunes are designed for the stock intake. You run the risk of running lean if you have a CAI over 3". However, you can get custom tunes for $50 each for the Edge that solves that problem. Also, you can get the Xcal3 with custom tunes. It just does not have the gauges if those are important to you.

Bluejay, I say this with no disrespect, but, I don’t want to look at gauges or have to while I'm driving: when I floor it, or what ever, I want it to be right all the time every time

I guess you don't tow anything. I live by my gauges when towing. If I am about to cook the engine or transmission I want to know before it happens, not after it has done $8000 in damages. Oh and BTW, when I floor it, I want to know I can pull the 8500# that is behind me without grenading the truck.... thats what gauges are for.

You obviously have no clue of the benefits of a custom tuned edge. It's just like having anyone else's custom tunes, but, for those that enjoy the gauges they get them. By and far custom tuned edge users get more with their custom tunes than any other, hands down.

Here is what I tow.... 33'-11" long, 10' tall, 8' wide right at 8500# loaded This is a far cry from a jet ski

I understand, and we are all different. I grew up with vehicles that had REAL gauges and have missed them on the modern cars where the gauges are just on/off switches. I have the monitor in the corner of my eyes giving me four readings all the time. I have it set on engine temp, oil temp, tranny temp, and digital speed. I like seeing that all is well, and knowing that if one temp goes too high, I can shut her down before extra damage. Honestly, I do little towing, I just like the knowledge.

Well what did I edit that you didn’t like? The reason I edit is because as I look back on the years sometimes I miss-state things and them correct them on further reclamation to be exact as I remember, OK

I was making a simple post about your ORIGINAL comment. If you go and edit it to correct yourself then thats fine, but don't go putting off your mistakes on someone else. Thats completely stupid. I don't care what you edit. Just make sure that someone else doesn't read them before you edit them..... it makes you look like an A$$.
