87 Performance Tune

Some asked for a report when I tried out Bill's tune for 87 octane. It has the same shift characteristics as the 93 tune, everything is just slightly milder. I really like it. I can now buy 87 octane and be content with the trucks performance. One thing I noticed, it does not pull as much air through the intake, less noise. I miss the noise! Last night on the way home, it chirpped the tires when it shifted from 1st to 2nd. So, I can say that I am very happy with it

One thing, if you get the tunes, pay attention to the default gear setting. When I loaded the 93 tune, it had my 3.55 gears as the default. When I loaded the 87 tune, it had 3.73 as the default.

I can't say enough about how peased I am with the tunes and with Bill's customer service. Stealth will install his tunes in a few days, so looking forward to his comments.

Thanks for the post. Looking at getting that myself. Not really concerned about the 93 tune (can barely afford 87 these days).

I understand that. I was running the 93 canned tune exclusively. Now I can run the 87 Performance tune and it will do everything I want. I saved $4.20 on the first fillup of 87. Assuming I get at least as good gas mileage once I quit romping on it, then the tunes will quickly pay for themselves.

Yes, he does, and he needs to call Bill and discuss them. Why do you keep posting this? Just let it go.

not directly related to tune, but did notice a slight drop in torque at low end with new Roush OR exhaust. May be only percieved though, due to excessive driving by ears.

No foot in mouth at all. He will have issues. He will want a different shift pattern, or the canned program will not downshift responsively enough. There are all kinds of issues he may have that he has not realized yet. So, just let it lie and things will work out just fine. We don't need your policing.

possibly due to it being a free-er flowing exhaust

No, I missed that. I was too focused on your policing, I guess.
