Might have an EDGE problem HELP!!!!

I just got my evo today and Im not sure if Im having problems with it. If I adjust any perameter besides the tire size, when I start the truck, it wants to staul, and then the idle fluxuates for about 5-10 seconds then its fine. No matter what tune Im on, it does the same thing. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone before or if might be an edge problem or even a truck problem. I switch it back to the stock tune and its fine. The only thing that makes me wonder why on all the tunes and even the stock tune is the idle is only about 380-430. Could this be the problem and how do I fix it. And even if this isnt a problem how can I fix it and not have any problems.

Also can edges have custom uploaded tunes from troyer or VMP. Just curious.

Was this a used unit? Have you attempted to update the unit to the latest firmware and calibrations? I would try updating the unit and see if that fixes your issue. Only custom tuning for Edge Evos that I know about is done by Bill-ASEMchanic on this site.

Even if you raise the idle rpm to its highest level this still happens? If it does I would update the firmware and calibrations on the Evo. Then retry it without doing any custom settings, just the canned tunes. If that works then try messing with the custom settings. If none if this works i would first call Edge and talk to them about the problem. If they dont know whats going on try emailing or talking to Bill (ASEMechanic). Good luck.

Well I wanted really a plug and play that I could adjust my tire size and gear ratio. Plus edge displays my trans temp and oss/tss.

And Im updating my edge right now so we will se if that helps anything. If it does help and everything is good, about how often should I update?

I bought mine a year and a half ago, never updated and it was great. It's even better now, I loaded Bill's custom tunes this morning.

Bill's been out of town. I sent him an email and got an "out of office" type message. He's very good about returning calls and emails.

BTW - don't update your Evolution's firmware and calibration unless you have to. If it's not broken - don't fix it.

Well you just proved ALL the naysayers wrong, you actually fixed a problem by updating your Edge. Glad you got it working. The updates are there for a reason, some of them actually added new features and the rest address known issues.

onsracing,

Sorry to hear your Edge isn't working right and that the updates didn't fix your problem. There are many folks here that tell others to never update and that is just foolish. Have you tried contacting Edge and working with them to resolve your problem? If that didn't work have you tried to contact Bill (ASEMechanic) to see if he can help?
