Suggestion on programmer
I just bought a 2002 5.4 SCrew 4x4 and have been poking around here reading about tuners, etc. I found a Superchips Max Micro for sale for $100 and was wondering what gains could I expect from using it? The truck has a stock replacement K&N and a dual pipe into single muffler flowmax. Seems like the ability to read codes and adjust the speedo if I run larger tires would be handy for the price, but what about performance gains? The truck has been well maintained and has 120k on it. Is there any way the programmer could hurt the truck changing from the stock tune? I'm a pure newby to this and just looking for some good advice. Thanks
I have the same tuner and bought it new for $200.00. For the money I am happy and noticed a difference after the install in the way the truck shifts and accelerates. Now to say that it has performed a miracle would not be true but I knew that a "can" tune would be mild on improvements and that was all I was expecting for the money. Superchips IMO does make a quality product and also stands behind the product. I have read were a couple of people have had problems related to installing the tuner and had a ECM problem that Superchips took care of the repair [reflash] at the dealership.
I have had no problems with my tuner.
Would only stress that you make 100% sure the tuner you are looking at is not locked or you will only have a code reader with no other options.

Thanks for the response
I did some research before I bought it and made sure it was not locked. I don't want to heavily modify the truck, but from reading, I know there is some more potential to be had. For the price, I can't see how I can go wrong. If I don't like it, I can always unlock it and throw it on ebay and get my money back. Thanks again!
