Edge confused?

I just bought an edge yesterday and it is on its way but I don't like the sound of all of these problems? What do I do when I get it does it come with software on it? Should I not update it to this fusion software everyone is complaining about? Is this possible? I wanted the edge to view all these parameters like coolant temp ETC. and apparently you can't do that with the fusion software? I am just confuzed as to what i should do when my edge arrives in the mail in a couple days.

Cory (and others),

The Fusion software, while a useful update tool, is stripped down and does not have the datastream tools, gear ratio calculator, or splash updater like the Lightning software had.

The software that ships with the Evolutions is Fusion. However, I have found that the Lightning install is still available. You can grab it at:
http://www.edgeproducts.com/updates/LightningSetup.exe

Make sure that you SAVE the install, don't run it from the web. If you ever need to reinstall (or uninstall) it may not be there later.

As I have mentioned to others, I have the Fusion client but have also reinstalled Lightning behind it and have had no problems.

I know it's a bit concerning, but it's really not all that bad. If you have any other questions, I am always available for consultation. Haa haa haa

Hope this helps.

Bill

Put it in context - ALL of these tuners/custom tune providers seem to have a few glitches.

If I wanted to stay away from reported "problems", I'd ditch my f150. I've never seen so many "problems" reported on a vehicle before (plugs, injectors, batterys, lighting, etc).

I have an Edge, it's working, and that's good enough for me. My truck seems OK too, again, good enough for me.

So, look at a few posts from members who like their Edges (and their other tuners, AND their F150s).

Jump right in. The Edge is a pretty easy mod and Bill can "adjust" the tune for you if you want that route.

Troyer can supply "great" tunes for you also - with a different tuner. (Reported problems - VERY long wait times for them to arrive).

Someone named Justin is supposed to be good at tuning too.

Pay your money and take your chance.
