superchips cortex

I've had fords all my life and just got rid of my 01' lariat 4x4 for an 08' fx4. Already did exhaust and air intake. Thinkin about superchips cortex tuner which has promising results. Only thing, will tuners mess up your engine after time. I mean playing with factory settings on an entire engine seems risky. Last thing I wanna do is f up my new truck. Any advice on tuners would be great.

WHats up with the double post??? The stock tune is a mild one at that. If you tune your truck it only will get better with time!!!!!:santa:

A tuner improves over what the factory can and will do based on EPA standards and politics. Tuners improve transmission performance and fuel efficiency thus making a better drivetrain.

Verify with SuperChips!

Roush211:

Mark sure you ask SuperChips directly if the Cortex is optimized for use with CAI's (Cold Air Intakes). I purchase one of the Flashpaq tuners only to see my mileage drop by 3mpg...all because the programming was only designed to be used with the factory air intake on the 3valve engines!
