Edge Evolution Custom tunes

Hey all, I just got my edge the other day and was wondering if anyone had some custom tunes they wouldnt mind sharing. I dont know enough about all the technical stuff to try customizing myself.
I have a 2003 F-150 screw, 20" KMC wheels with 32" tires, with flowmaster 50 series muffler dualed out the back, K&N air filter, and some time back I removed the air intake silencer.
If anyone has customized their edge and saw an improvement in performance/power and doesnt mind sharing their secret, let me know...

thanks

stick to running the Edge tunes for a bit. Also,if you use the search function on this site you may just find 1 or 2 Edge tuning threads on this site......Read alot and then make your own custom changes......

Your truck is not the same as everyone elses truck. So, what works good for me may not work for you........

The only things that would be worth changing at this point would be for tire size. None of your other mods need tuning........All other parameters that you can custom tune are vehicle specific.......
For example:

If you run higher octane gas you can advance timing a bit, but.....this can cause damage if you are'nt careful about listening for detonation or "pinging".

Once you change gears, tire size, you can put in custom sizes......

Everything else, shift points, shift firmness, speed governer, WOT shifting, fuel demands.......are all based upon the vehicles performance. Thus, vehicle specific..............

None,of the things should be messed with by a novice Edge user. Continue to read and use that ever familiar SEARCH function.......

Then you'll be able to make an educated decision on custom tuning.....

We need to get all your replys in one thread, as much as possible. As a guideline, those that have made custome settings usually have something similar to what I have run for a year and a half. I have the 5.4, 2005, so mine is different.

I run Level 3 for the most part, and I run 93 octane. I use the sme settings if I run level 2 with 87, just don't adjust the timing.

Timing: +1.0 (93 octane only as it comes set for 91 in level 3)
Normal shifts: no change
WOT shifts: 1-2=5250 2-3=5250 3-4=4800
Shift Pressure: 1-2= +12 2-3 +12 3-4 +9 (I like firm shifts, you may not like it that firm)
Max RPM: 5650 This shoul always be about 400 more than WOT shift points.
Max speed: 110
Set the tires: whatever your circumfrence is
Set the gears: whatever is in you truck

There's just way to many different tunes to get what you want. I can't figure out what one I want!

Sure. I assume you mean with the Edge. You just go into the custom setting and change only what you want to, leave the rest alone, and save it. You guys are making it way too complicated. The settings I posted above are a good starting point. If you are racing, you may want to get a bit more aggressive. If you do not like the real firm shifts, you can back off on the shift pressure. YOu can tweak some of the settings from what I am running, but unless you are on a dyno, or WOT racing, you won't feel much difference. I have been running these settings for about 32,000 miles now. Probably about 8,000 or so on Level 2 and the remainder on Level 3

Any time that you change somthing with your edge, its gonna be considered "customm." But you just select lvl 3 then it will ask if you want to custom tune, say yes and a list will come up and you can change what you want.

Hey blue, I can't find a tune I really like yet. I've got an 05 fx4 5.4 with true duals, I want my truck to really move. I've got pretty much the same tune as you, sorry if you have been asked this 100 times.

You are not understanding the gear ratio adjustment. The Edge does not change the ratio of the gears you are running, it merely corrects the computer program for what gears are in the truck. If you have not had the gears replaced, determine what your truck came with from the factory. Most have either 3.55 or 3.73. When you go to the custom setting for gears, it will show a computer program default, mine showed 3.73. So I had to change it to the 3.55 that my truck actually has. That is all you are doing, correcting Edges program for what you actually have in your truck. If you have what it defaults to, you make no change. If you do not get the right gears into the program, your speedo and odemeter will be off.

ok thanks for clearing that up, i thought u could change ur gear ratios through edge as a temp soultion to actual gears
