So I purchased a used superchips 1714 for my 2004 F150 5.4 liter. To my dismay the tunner needs an update. So here is my question. Could I have a factory service dept reflash my pcm with an earlier version? I have a friend who works at a small ford dealership and it might cost me lunch. this seems to be quicker and easier than sending the tunner back to superchips.

 

Thats not the way to go, your PCM was updated for performance reasons that were not correct before. Call Mike Schimmack @ Superchips and get the update done on the tuner. Mike's direct #407.585.7097

 

I had coresponded with him via e-mail. He said it was an easy fix, and that my curenty strategy was supported by superchips data base. I had just hopped to find a quicker solution. They are closed untill the 2nd of January. I live in Vancouver washington, so I will likely have to wait about a month before it is resolved. I do appreciate the reply! THANK YOU!!!
