Edge Speed Question

I have noticed my Edge reads 2-3 mph slower than my speedomoter reads. Is this normal? Im running it on level 2. I thought it would read a faster mph. The RPMs are matching though. It currently has stock tires.

Thanks
David

Yes its normal. Ive tried changing my tire size a dozen times to try and make them match and no luck. I thought I heard someone say the Edge is accurate but your MPH on the tucks are 2-3 faster then what your actually going or it may be the other way around. Again just guessing on this part and thought I read it somewere here in the forums before.

BTW..beckerjs those are some nice deer pics in your gallery. Need to some bigger bucks though.

Thanks for the info. I found out dont leave your Edge in the cold. I left it out in neg degree weather and it took it forever to start. I guess Ill have to disconnect and reconnect every day until I can get out of Alaska.

My truck speedo is 4 mph fast and my Edge is 2 mph fast according to GPS.

It says in the Edge user's manual that it may be off a few MPH due to inconsistencies with the gauge cluster assembly, etc. etc... I'll go dig mine up and get the exact wording later - mine matches exactly.

Also give this a shot - look up your tire size in MM and load it in to the Edge - there is a chance the edge is set for a given tire size and you have smaller/larger tires, as Ford had many sizes available on the F150 they can't possibly have matched all of them in the canned tunes.

I asked the same question a few weeks back and ASEMECHANIC "AKA Bill" stated that is normal. The edge is the one that is accurate.

Thanks for clearing it up. I figured the Edge would be more acurate as it reads the PMC in your truck.

Thanks

That is strange because my GPS says that the Edge is wrong. When I checked the Speedo and GPS were dead nuts even, the Edge was 2-3 slow.

well i myself and going by my speedo not only does it save a lil gas going 60 instead of 62 it may not seem like alot but its really is and plus getting a ticket for 2mph diff isnt worth it bc that 2mph can get u a ticket if the speed limit is 55 and i always do 5 over but if u go by your edge and it says 60 but your speedo and the cops radar says 62 can end up in a ticket lol just my 2cents
