I've had the edge evolution on my '05 F150 for 3 years, but today traded for a '08 and I got a hankering to install it on my new truck. I checked the edge site but didn't see any info whether it would work or not.....anyone have a clue as to such?

 

The firmware should work on the '08, but we Edge hasn't finished the calibrations yet. Should be a couple more days and they'll have it ready. If you could though, plug the unit in and let me know what he HEX code is that pops up on the display.

Thanks Bill,.. I had to make a trip out-of-town and won't be back till Monday...but gonna give it a shot then and report back........

 

Well I had a chance to plug her in and got a hex code of "0KDG3A3.HEX"... I just did a start up to see what happens and the tach function works ok.... so Bill, think that is good news?? Thanks..

 

Bump! Those Edge folks are really hard to get a hold of by phone

 

Bump... the Edge doesn't work on the '08 except for tach, mphs and mileage other than that no workie....As of today I probably have about 1.5 hrs of on hold waiting time accumulated since the 15th of last month and 1/2 dozen wasted unanswered emails Anyone know whats up with these folks?

 

Well... finally got through to the Edge folks today and this is what they said...

"Grant,
The new 08 trucks are not supported by the unit. we are hoping to have something for it soon but it may be 6-8 months before we have programming for the 08 f-150.

I have an 2007 F150, built in June of 2007, that has the same hex code.

0KDG3A3.HEX

I purchased an Edge today and I put it on the computer first to download whatever was new, even though the build date for the Edge was January 3rd, 2008.

The software on the CD was "Lightning" software but after I installed that it upgraded itself to "Fusion" software. I have no idea what the difference is.

I don't know what else it downloaded but it did update some stuff on the Edge itself.

Anyways, I installed the Edge in my truck and it works great.

 

Any news on '08s and the Edge??

 

Sorry about the MIA, guys. As you may have read, thing hav been quite difficult since Thanksgiving.

Anyway, 6 to 8 months is WAAAAAY out of line. We just applied the update for the '08 5.4L and as far as I know, the 4.6L hasn't changed. If anyone has a calibration that isn't supported, please let me know and I will get it included.

In case it hasn't been checked, OKDG3A3 has been supported since 02/2007.
