- When you say "not starting up right away" do you mean the truck or the Evolution?
- When you say "edge doesn't even light up" do you mean the backlight or the LCD display?
If you live close enough, I am located in Winder and would certainly be happy to take a look at it for you.
Take care.

they edge dosent show a display i already took the wires out and reatached them to see if that was the problem,
when i said dosnet start up right away it dosent turn over, and only did that when the edge was installed

I get the "no display" part - that's referring to the Edge, and, I understand you disconnected and reconnected the cable - right? AND, you had the ignition key in the "ON" position BEFORE you connected the Edge cable, right? And - after this, still "no joy", right?
But now I'm really confused. what doesn't "turn over"? The starter? Does it engage and the engine doesn't start? And it seems this "symptom" is only present when you have the Edge connected - is that correct?
As I said, forgive me - I'm just a simple Aerospace Engineer/Computer Programming Instructor who can usually figure out what to do if I understand the symptoms. And, I bet YOU a beer that Bill could help if the problem was stated a bit more clearly!
(Been waiting for a good time to use that one!)- Jack

I looked for the softwear online and got in on the edge website but it wouldnt pull up after downloading it, the edge programmer its self dosent light up orshow and display, the truck is working fine, just didnt turn over right away like it did but i think that was my battery. What should i do about the edge peace though sence its not working
If the Edge is not working at all the first thing you should check is the fuse. The cig lighter and OBD are hooked up on the same fuse, if you want to know what fuse to look at and what amperage it is rated for RTFM!
If its not the fuse than double and triple check the connections. Make sure the key is on whenever you plug the unit in. I always hook up the Edge first, turn the key on, and than plug in the OBD. Hope this helps.

I don't understand why they do it, but the power to the OBDII port is on the same line as the lighter and Power Point outlet.
The manual will indicate what # fuse is the lighter/accy fuse. Replace that and you should be good to go.
Once the unit is working again, return the truck to stock and see if the starting hesitation still occurs. If it does, then you know the problem is likely with the battery, like you said.
Good luck.

Yes this is a really F'd up setup. Took me about 10minutes to figure out. I plugged my radar detector into the cig lighter and the Edge turned off. WTF! I pulled over and checkd both of the connections and they were good so I busted out the manual and started looking for an OBD fuse. Ford doesnt call it an OBD, I dont remember the exact name but I think it was scanport or something like that.Again WTF FORD???
