Another for bill... sorry....
hey bill....
i know everyone is on this subject already, but on my 06 4.6 i;m running the evo and cannot seem to get rid of this lean condition, my intake is not homemade, and i had to use the stock MAF housing. its an "air max - spiral flow" they sell them on f150store.com (moss motorsports) is there anything that can be done to correct this, i feel like i'm not geting the power i should be getting outta the evo, not to mention the come and go of a misfire, and watching my short and long term fuel trim jump from -.08 to .27...
any help is great...
thanks alot

Bill is out till next Monday I beleive for Thanksgiving, I talked to him yesterday and sent him some info on my truck about creating a custum tune for my Edge. So give him till then if no one else can help till then and good luck!!
As several people have mentioned, many of the aftermarket intakes cause a slightly lean condition.
The more I investigate this the more I am certain that this is an intentional design characteristic in an attempt to slightly lean the engine in an effort to produce more power. The problem is that the Evolution (an maybe other programmers) also modify the AFR to improve performance and the combination of the programmer and the intakes ultimate over-leans the AFR.
The only suggestion available at this point is to have a tune made for your Evolution that addresses such modifications. Otherwise, you will always be a touch low on power and can even exhibit a lean misfire (as you had indicated).
Take care.

seidita84t for a Edge custom tune just send Bill an email and he will ask you some questions what version Edge you have the hex code ect. It cost $50.00 and I paid him through PayPal. I sent him my info before he went out of town and should have it one day next week. He said Monday but told him no hurry its not like I have to wait 2-3 months.
I'll post my review when I get the file and flash my edge and test it. I went a head and sent him some of my previous user settings and is going to add them to the custom tune as well. I'll give more updates after I talk with him next week and get the new file to upload. This is all new to me (custom tunes ) so hes being great about explaining everything to me and what hes doing.
