Problem with tunes???
hey black, yeah i live about an hour away from vmp. I found this out after i had already went with troyer. Do you think they would datalog and dyno it with it being tuned by troyer? Seems like they would try to get you to switch to their tunes.

If for some reason you don't have this info, TP will email you another copy.

Practice until you are proficient in creating those configuration files ( which you can save - you'll need two).
Make yourself a checklist - as complete as you deem fit, so you know exactly which steps to do and in which order - the dyno session or your own logging session 'on-road' is the last place to be fumbling this - trust me, it'll help reduce any potential anxiety lol.
Good luck.
FordScrew, if you do end up having to datalog I can't imagine Justin or Mike or any of them caring what or why but them a call. Hopefully you can work it out without having to spend money.
I think ill just say screw it and give vmp a call so they can do all the datalogging. Im over this whole thing. Even on this computer that has XP, it still doesnt recognize the xcal 2 is hooked up at all. I hope they will work on a truck that isnt tuned by them.
i may have just overlooked this, but before you hooked up the USB cable, did you download the USB driver and install it before you plugged it into your computer?? if not then that may be your problem. sometimes if you dont do it in the right order, it wont recognize the info being transmitted.

Give Justin a call & ask about a datalogging session - Mike & Justin are colleagues.
Again - good luck & sorry you could not get the unit to interface - I have done this several times and never had an issue- probably something simple.
i may have just found your problem...
you have to download the USB driver. it isn't on the cd. at least it isn't on my cd. you can get it here

you have to download this, install it on your computer, then plug in the x-cal2. try that and it should work. sorry about all that. it should work if you can get it to work. you may have to plug the USB cord into another port if you can.

Maybe i can get it to work on my own comp with vista now. Also that is the computer with the datalogging tutorials. Thanks guy, you helped me a ton. I really appreciate it.
