Any advice for Hypertech Programmer

I just bought a 2000 f-150 with the 5.4 liter and the guy gave me his hypertech programmer to go with it. I've never used any type of programmer and he said he set it back to stock settings. I've read a lot about the programmer and i know how to use it now, but I'm not sure what the best settings for my truck are.

From: missing Texas...
raise the shift points 100 rpms on the 1-2 and 2-3, leave the 3-4 alone, raise your rev limiter 200 rpms and set it for whatever octane you choose to run. the shift firmness increase made my truck "clunk" but not shift any better

Thanks, i noticed a little difference in throttle response and the extened rev limiter helps in high end power.
