Is it worth it?

Hello, I am new to this site. I was sent a link by a friend who is a Mustang enthusiast and he thought I might like it here. I just bought a "new to me" 2002 F-150 XLT supercab 4x4. It has the 5.4ltr and tow package. It is in really good shape and is my first full size truck. I had an 88 Bronco II and then a 2000 Ranger.

I have been giving some thought to adding an Edge programmer, then do the COI and better exhaust. I didn't really think of it so much and my Mustang friend suggested I may enjoy better towing and better performance with these upgrades. I tow a lot as we are avid boaters, sometimes over long distances.

I am wondering though, is a tuck with 86,000 (albeit well maintained) miles worth the expense of these mods, or is it better to just practice good maintenance, take care of her and enjoy?

I do plan on keeping it for a while. My B II had 325,xxx miles when I retired it and my Ranger had over 200 on it. I have heard good things about the 5.4 and plan on keeping it well maintained.

I have an edge and it was by far the best cost to performance mod i did. Everything helps but youll see more for your money with a tuner than anything. And there are a few good ways to go that route and a few bad ways

Like the people above. ITs just the start of a long happy relationship between you nad your truck. Im at 170000 and its still runs like a champ. My look a little bad at first but the drivetrain is in premo shape.
