i bought a used 05F150. i dont know if a tuner was used on it before. what happens if i try to use a tuner(i have superchip 1815) on it and it already had tunes and was not put back to stock mode? will the tuner error out or worse, crash the computer?

Ford can reflash it to stock, then you can put your tuner on. Then your superchips will have the stock setting saved on it just in cas you need to return it to stock. Did you buy it private?

 

the truck was a rebuilt so dont know. the tuner was used but stock.

so i need to flash it to stock if it isnt? how would i know its not stock?

Thats all computer software. Not really any way to look at the truck and tell if there is a tuner. The only way I know of is the trucks computer needs to be plugged into at ford. I don't know a ton about the computers, but some. Im just saying what I would do.
